Treasurer: Om Shah

Pronouns: He/Him/His

About Om:

Om is a junior studying Public Policy with a minor in Political Science, History, and History of Law and Policy. He is currently interested in pursuing civil rights litigation.

“In fall 2022, I rushed BAR to leave my comfort zone and meet people outside of my typical social bubble. Since joining, I've been able to achieve just that. Over the past two semesters, BAR has continuously helped me develop friendships that I never would have made otherwise. My favorite part of BAR is undoubtedly the sense of community that BAR's actives have established over time and the willingness of every active to help another without hesitation. Time and time again, I've realized how fortunate I am to be a part of this wonderful group. During my upcoming years within BAR, I hope to not only maintain this sense of community, but actively work to strengthen it.”

Outside of BAR, I'm a research assistant at the Center for Local, State, and Urban Policy at the Ford School. Additionally, I am a part of the Michigan Institute for Progressive Policy, the ACLU Undergraduate Chapter, the Parole Preparation Project, and the South Asian Awareness Network.

Fun fact: Om enjoys Wordles and crosswords during his free time!
