Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

About Melanie:

Melanie is a senior double majoring in Sociology (Law, Justice, and Social Change) and Latina/o Studies. Her dream is to attend law school and ultimately become a prosecuting attorney in criminal justice. Eventually, she would love to work for a government agency as part of their legal counsel, with a focus on combating national security risks.

"BAR has been a space where I have gained confidence in a professional capacity. I have met great friends and mentors who have inspired and pushed me out of my comfort zone, which has opened many new opportunities for me. I joined E-Board as a way to give back to the people who have given me so much. I know being a younger member can be intimidating, but the upperclassmen have always shown me what community means, and I wish to continue fostering that space”

Outside of BAR, Melanie is the Vice President of the Latinx Undergraduate Legal Association.
