President: Katie Song

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

About Katie:

Katie is a senior double majoring in Political Science and Philosophy with a minor in Asian Pacific Islander American Studies. She is currently interested in public interest law, specifically legal areas relevant to immigration, civil rights, and labor.

“I rushed BAR hoping to find a sense of community amidst a chaotic, lonely, virtual semester. I also wanted to get a sense of what I might do after college, with only a tentative interest in the law. Since then, I've spent almost three years in this organization, becoming more assured in my aspirations to become a public interest attorney, making incredible friends, and gaining the confidence to pursue leadership. I'm very proud to be a member of BAR, and I feel lucky to be in this position and to be able to contribute to its improvement. BAR is my home at Michigan, and I've grown so much here.”

Outside of BAR, Katie is a part of Creative Campus Voting Project and the Public Service Intern Program.

Fun Fact: Katie enjoys experiencing slight deafness after concerts, philosophizing on lawns, and doodling in class!
